Is Polygamy a Feminist issue?

Yes, I believe it is. What is Polygamy? Polygamy is a form of marrigage where the person has more than one spouse at the same time. What is Feminism? Feminist can be seen as a movement where women fought for gender equality, women rights, have a voice, Receive equal opportunities in terms of jobs etc. When a man is married to more than one wive, does he treat all the wives the same, does he love them the same, respect them the same, give them equal opportunities? In many African countries the first wive have a lot more priviledges than others, she has the biggest home, travels every where the husband goes, have more say than the others, the first wives have to give consent that the husband can marry another wife in some cases etc. Feminism fought for the right for a women to divorce her husband, use contraceptives, have the same social and political status than men etc. Does Polygamy allow for that? In these marriages all the children belongs to everybody, are raised by everybody etc. Do you think Polygamy is a feminist issue?
